What brings you to Death Cafe?
I have worked closely with many people as they approach the end of their life. Some are fearful and become anxious and even angry while some approach death as the inevitable ending of a life well lived. Families have a difficult time when their loved ones want to talk about options as it becomes apparent that current treatments are not likely to "cure".
What would you like your legacy to be?
As Steve Jobs said "I'd like to make a dent in the universe". I want to help people age in place safely and have them be able to plan (as much as possible) for a "good death".
Thoughts for sharing:
A patient once asked "Am I going to die"? I couldn't help answering "Yes - we are all going to die". I did add "I don't think you are going to die soon, though".
