About Marika O'Sullivan:
I have been around death since childhood as I lived next door to my great gradmother and her many siblings who died and we waked. But I feel that I was initiated into a different relationship with death when as a teenager my best friend drowned and then I had a serious road traffic accident and near death experience. Since then most of my life has been working with and supporting others with much training and therapy to get a deeper understanding of the cycle of life and how best we can live while we are here.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I welcome the opportunity to be in community and share. I have attended several Death Cafe's and appreciate how they provide a relaxed atmosphere for conversations about death, and a space to talk about grief and of course life and it's gifts.
What would you like your legacy to be?
Care for the earth, it's people and life, to leave good compost.
Thoughts for sharing:
"Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome."
Isaac Asimov
