About Nadine Lavoie:
For over 15 years, I've had the honor of volunteering, offering solace to those at the end of their lives. Bringing a gentle, loving presence to individuals in their final moments is a passion of mine and my calling. I believe everyone deserves to feel joy, serenity, love, and to see one last smile before their last breath.
Nature and animals hold a special place in my heart. There's nothing quite like the tranquility of being in nature, and the bond I share with animals brings me immeasurable joy. Every day, without fail, I find comfort in showering my beloved kitty, Gorgeous, with kisses on her soft, furry belly. :-)
It's a simple gesture that fills both of our hearts with warmth and happiness. :-D
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I remember when I attended my first Death Cafe several years ago how the experience was eye and heart opening. The diversity present—spanning age, culture, and background—was both wide-ranging and deeply inclusive, creating an atmosphere of respect and understanding.
Inspired by this experience, I'm driven to create similar opportunities for others.
A space where discussions surrounding death and dying are not only welcome but encouraged—a safe haven free from judgment.
At time there's room for laughter too, :-) offering a reminder of the beauty in embracing some of life's adventure.
What would you like your legacy to be?
That I've contributed in shifting the perception durrounding Death & Dying. By creating a safe, fun and original space to live with fulfilment, joy and sparkles until the end.**
