Death Cafe profile for Ryan Doppelmayr
Location: United States
About Ryan Doppelmayr:
I'm the Director of Faith Formation at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene.
We're a community of progressive-minded people with a wide variety of beliefs but shared values. We value learning, generosity, justice, equity, transformation, pluralism, interdependence, all centered in love.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
Death is an important part of the cycle of life. I hope to make it a little less scary, for myself and others.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I'm hoping to leave the world with a little more love in it. If I know I have added a little more love, justice, joy, and learning, it will have been a good life.
Thoughts for sharing:
Knowing and acknowledging that our lives are finite reminds us that we are the makers of our own meaning. Our lives are precious opportunities to experience love, learning, joy, and awe. Life can be hard and painful and for too many it is too short, but it is also beautiful.
