Death Cafe profile for Bree Crutchfield
Location: United States
About Bree Crutchfield:
My name is Bree and I have an End-Of-Life Doula Service called, Good Mourning End of Life Doula, in Michigan.
I am comfortable talking about death (maybe too comfortable), not in a morbid way, but in a way that I hope destigmatizes the topic.
My children and I are open about the topic of death and I hope to contribute to normalizing conversations that centers Death.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I'm wanting to host my own Death Cafe and learn about the history of Death Cafe.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I would like my legacy to be one of compassion, love, non-judgmental, honesty and laughter-filled.
Additionally I hope to be remembered for serving others and for giving awesome hugs! :)
Thoughts for sharing:
Robin Williams, may he rest in peace, said it perfectly:
Death is nature's way of saying, 'Your table is ready.'

Well, I had the first meeting and due to the weather (rainy and overcast), I didn't expect anyone to show up.
One brave soul did arrive by the name of Michelle. Michelle and I talked about death, preparing for death, facing our own mortalities etc.
Michelle shared with me the death of her parents (and others) and how it affected her.
In turn, I shared how deaths in my life affected me.
The meeting ended on a wonderful note and she's looking forward to next month's meeting-as am I.
