About Kristin Markling:
I believe it's important to support accessing our own innate knowing as humans, which has been forgotten through the process of colonization. As such, I prefer to keep any "qualifications" I have in the field of death and grief separate from my role hosting Death Cafe.
There are plenty of resources and organizations available for gaining information and advice about death from others. I encourage people to research on their own to find the information they are seeking which best aligns for them.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I'm passionate about normalizing talking about death and learning from the wisdom each individual offers. As I gain more experience with Death Cafe, I'm also becoming passionate about supporting the ideals of not using Death Cafe to give out information and steer people in any direction or course of action as part of the event. I perceive this quideline to apply to all participants and notice how difficult it can be for folks to refrain from giving their opinions and advice about death and dying.
