About Kristin Markling:
My main purpose has been to live life fully and discover the best ways to be loving. I have found I most enjoy this through connection with other life forms of all kinds on earth.
There are many ways I pursue this interest which occasionally earns income, while never being called to any particular thing as a carreer.
Death and bereavment support are relatively new interests for me. What interests me the most is what they teach about living, as they are integral aspects to life itself, whcih everyone experiences.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I believe it's important to support accessing our own innate knowing as humans, which has been forgotten through the process of colonization.
One aspect of death and dying which I believe has been forgotten is that these are community events. Not medical events.
Death Cafe is one way I imagine remembering that death and dying are community events, simply by coming together in community with others to share.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I would like to be remembered as someone who was striving to learn and grow. while holding love as a baseline. While not always achieving that objective, had compassion for self and all others who also do not always achieve that objective.
