Our Death Cafe this month covered a great span of topics, from the perspective of today's youth on death and suicide among young people, inequities in nursing care, funeral business and preparations, burial shrouds, mushroom suits and forensic studies programs, on to yes, you do need a bunch of death certificates when the time comes, and as always, the topic of who comes out of hte woodwork on someone's passing arose.

Look for a Death Cafe LPCC monthly at the minimum moving forward.

Another great Death Cafe filled with a variety of conversation. I've titled this post "Where do we go?" because this theme nails the nature of the topics:

- Where do we go in that last ebbing time?

- Where do we go as a generation taking care of older parents- while aging ourselves?

- Where do we go in making living communities that help people have their best last years of this life?

More to come!

Death Cafe write up: Death Cafe to Go Laramie

Posted by Leeschwa on July 18, 2023, 4:49 p.m.

We had a spirited late morning into mid-afternoon discussion!

Takeaways from yesterday's Death Cafe to Go:
- Family matters... You never know who will come out of the woodwork.
- Is life insurance worth the cost? Please weigh in, with alternative solutions.
- Even if you think you "don't really have anything," someone will have to deal with whatever you leave behind.
- Have a plan, and document!
