About Kathryn Murphy:
As a Registered Nurse, and Canadian Armed Forces veteran, I am trained in adult education and as an End-of-Life Doula. I am excited to be able to offer my services to those who are enmeshed within the death community, through terminal illness, dying or loss of a loved person.
I hope to be able to contribute to the 'good death' movement in a postive way.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
As a Death Doula, I wish to advocate for positive death communication in my community.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I hope that, when I leave this earth, my actions will be remembered as those that were positive, bright and added to the light in another person's life.
Thoughts for sharing:
Death does not have to be lonely or frightening. A little education and support can change the story enough to be a spiritually enlightening and peaceful event that is full of love and joy, as well as devastatingly sad.
"A heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved" - Ed Sheeran

We had a great turn out! 20 people. The discussion was a good one - talking about the possibility of experiencing a good death.
The group requested another meeting. We will meet again - same place and time on 21 June.
The group requested we speak about MAiD (medical assistance in dying) in Nova Scotia, Canada.
