About this Death Cafe
I feel honored to facilitate Death Cafes in Carmel, IN because I believe there is a hunger in people today to talk about death, the final taboo. I am proud that our Cafe joins the more than 970 being held around the world. The aim of the Cafes is to help people make the most of their lives, and that is consistent with my career as a life coach but in the Cafes there are no hierarchies - we gather simply as people who are going to die. The egalitarian nature of it is unique and the Cafe is open to adults 18 and older.
We set aside time to talk intentionally about death and dying; we ask questions and listen to one another. There are tears and laughter; it is free of idealogy, free of cost, open to all, and confidential. We have small group discussions, large group activities, and provide feedback through written evaluations.
