About this Death Cafe
This Death Cafe aims to make space for the unique experiences and thoughts about death, dying, and living that members of the LGBTQ+ community may have. Join us in a safe and comfortable spot where refreshments will be plentiful and where all conversation is welcome.
This Death Cafe is co-hosted by LGBTQ Wellness and the Centre for Living with Dying:
LGBTQ Wellness was founded in 2015 to support the mental health of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning) community members and allies by providing outreach, education, and advocacy services that encourage social support and holistic wellness.
Our vision is for the diverse, multigenerational LGBTQ communities throughout Santa Clara County to benefit from an affirmative culture of wellness.
The Centre for Living with Dying program provides emotional support to adults and children facing life-threatening illness or the trauma of having a loved one die. The Centre also provides crisis intervention services and broad-based educational programs on grief and loss. Whether clients choose individual counseling or grief groups, they are gently given tools for coping with loss and trauma. Individual and small group grief support is available for adults, children, teens and families.
