About this Death Cafe

We start off with some kindly Death Cafe standard rules to keep the conversations safe and friendly...then a quote and a moment of silence...and we talk and usually laugh, too.  It is whatever it is.

Here are some quotes from prior cafes:

"I had been dead for billions of years before my birth, it didn't bother me in the slightest."  - Mark Twain

" People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present and future is just a stubbornly persistent illusion."  - Albert Einstein upon hearing of the death of a friend.

Many people die at twenty five and aren't buried until they are seventy five.
Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) American statesman, scientist and philosopher

About Eleesabeth Hager

As a "death professional", Eleesabeth Hager is still surprised by it… and knows, for sure, that talking about the inevitable is a very good thing.

She came to be an Interfaith hospice chaplain because of the love and the difficult gifts she found at bedside when walking with her own mother on an eleven year decline into dementia.

Her previous education as a resilient techie entrepreneur and a creative Landscape Architect frames her understandings about listening to ‘what is’ and about what useful support is at bedside. She sees the nature of love and fear—as a dynamic process within the seasons of renewal...which is always a good thing to talk about.
