About Hayley West & Annie Morabito

Hayley West has co-hosted Death Cafes since 2014 in the Blue Mountains, Canberra and Senegal. She is an artist, Death Literacy Advocate, member of the Natural Death Advocacy Network and on the board of the Castlemaine Cemetery Trust.

Hayley's visual arts practice relates to a lived awareness of death and memorial; working with sculpture, video, performance and installation. Her research explores the realities of grief through personal experiences and artistic practice, focusing on the inevitability of one's own death and the impact on those remaining. As an artist working in the public realm, Hayley believes in empowering the community by sharing practical knowledge through exchange and generosity. Her practice spans over 15 years of research, exhibitions and international residencies.

Annie Morabito is based in Castlemaine and working in private practice as an Art Therapist. Annie’s services include End of life support/Grief & Loss counselling/Intuitive Healing and Chakra balancing.

 Annie's training includes: Death Doula/End of Life Consultant- Life Options; Soul Midwife/ Practitioner-Soul Midwives School (The Holistic & Spiritual Care of the Dying) United Kingdom; Compassion & Presence: Skills in Contemplative Care- Spiritual Care Education Programme Australia; Spiritual Care in Palliative Care- Queensland University self directed learning; Post Graduate Certificate in Loss, Grief & Trauma Counselling- Flinders University; Diploma of Counselling- Australian College of Applied Psychology; Advanced Diploma of Transpersonal Art Therapy; Magnified Healing (Energy healing/ balancing) Reiki Healing; Diploma of Intuitive Spiritual Healing- Health & Harmony Colleges; and Mindfulness for Wellness & Peak Performance- Monash University.
