About this Death Cafe
So, you've stumbled acorss this event and your thinking "really?"
Well yes 'really'. A Death cafe is a safe environment to chat, eat cake and drink tea. Not that we need a 'safe' place for tea and cake, but finding a comfortable place for conversation is pretty important. Especially when the conversation maybe about the final life ritual we will all participate in!
DC's are not platform for promotion, they are not a forum for counselling of bereavement advise.
Invariably there is always laughter, sometimes a tear (or two).
Cafe's are without answers, and don't attempt to provide solutions or conclusions. Althougth it's fair to say much debate about lemon drizzle cake has featured!
It will be different, it's highly likely to be fun. You can come and go as you wish.

About Toby Angel
Toby has done many things in his life, the most significant of which is establishing a family.
The Death Cafe movement came to him via a friend who was embarking on a new career as a funeral director.... and it followed that Toby's focus would benefit from learning about this 'social franchise'.
With a wife and teenage family he is acutely aware of the need to educate and fulfill his, and his childrens lives.
In 2018 Toby's dad died of natural cuases. Having spent time preparing for this event, he can recall how DC played an important role in opening his mind to reality.
