About Home Hospice Association National Capital Region
About the host: Home Hospice National Capital Region is pleased to support the Ottawa Public Library’s vision of building community and transforming lives. OPL’s mission is to inspire learning, spark curiosity and connect people – all of which perfectly aligns with the intention of a Death Café.
About the facilitator: Heather has always been drawn to explore and discuss the messy bits of life, so she deeply appreciates the invitation of a Death Café – to step inside a non-judgemental, compassionate holding container that allows for dialogue around death and dying to flow freely.
As a facilitator, Heather draws on a long-standing contemplative practice, counselling experience and holistic training across the death-care spectrum. She shows up fully with an open mind and an open heart to offer guidance when needed, but mainly to witness what unfolds organically with each unique group that gathers. And of course, she shows up for the cake!
