About this Death Cafe
At a Death Cafe, we drink tea and coffee, eat cake, and discuss death. The aim is to increase awareness of death to help ourselves make the most of our (finite) lives. What's on your mind about death and dying?
In this group discussion we will cover whatever topics or questions you bring to the group.
Water and desserts will be provided.
This is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.
This death cafe is free. It is two hours long.
Email me at sarah@deathpositivedc.com if you have questions!
About Sarah, Founder of Death Positive DC
I have been hosting death cafes around DC since Nov. of 2016!
In May of 2017, I started a group called Death Positive DC, which is open to anyone:
www.deathpositivedc.com and and www.facebook.com/groups/DeathPositiveDC and www.instagram.com/deathpositivedc
Death Positive DC promotes conversations about death and helps people connect around this topic through social media
and in-person events.
One of my goals is to normalize death as a part of life and help people become more comfortable thinking and talking about death. By exploring death, we can live our lives more fully.
I am also an end-of-life doula who has done doula training though INEDLA. I believe part of my role as a doula is to educate the public about death and end-of-life issues.
