About this Death Cafe
The main intention of the Death Cafe is "making death talkable." There are so many valuable insights to be gained from discussing death in an open way. The event is hosted by the Purdue University Honors College.
About Dr. Heather L. Servaty-Seib
Dr. Servaty-Seib is Professor in the Doctoral Program in Counseling Psychology and Associate Dean of Student Life in the Honors College. Her research work is focused in the areas of adolescent/young adult bereavement and suicide, social support and grief, and the use of loss as a broad model for conceptualizing significant life events. Dr. Servaty-Seib serves on the editorial boards of four death-related academic journals. She is a past president of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) and received the ADEC 2013 Death Educator Award.
