About this Death Cafe

The Young Bereavement Professionals Group hosts monthly Death Café's on the third Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30pm.

At a Death Café, people “eat cake and discuss death”. The aim is to “increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives”. During the Death Café people gather in a safe, relaxed setting to discuss death, celebrate life and enjoy food and time together. This Death Cafe is open to the community. This is not a support group or educational seminar - just a chance to talk about death in an effort to enhance life...and, of course, to eat cake.

If you would like to learn more about Death Café’s please visit their website: www.deathcafe.com or to learn more about the Death Cafe's happening in Iowa "like" our Death Cafe Iowa page on Facebook.

It is not required to RSVP to this event but is encouraged. If you have questions or would like to RSVP to this event contact Hamilton's Academy of Grief & Loss at (515) 697-3666.

About Young Berevement Professionals Group

Buffy Peters started her career of working with grieving people as a volunteer working with grieving children and in August 2014 she started as the Coordinator of Hamilton’s Academy of Grief & Loss. One of the things she enjoys most about the Death Café is having a safe place where people can openly discuss anything they want regarding death.
