About this Death Cafe

I am interested in knowing and understanding how others make meaning of life and death.  It is my hope that in sharing our stories we can live life to the full, and at the same time, attend to end-of-life matters fearlessly.

The Bodhi Tree provides an inspirational setting for this gathering.  The group is limited to 12 participants.  If more people sign up, a waitlist will be generated and there will be opportunity to attend the next Death Café.

About Vicki Barry

Building on a wealth of knowledge and experience in health, business and community development, I am best described as a social entrepreneur.  Curious by nature, and having a thirst for knowledge and understanding, I have never been afraid to ask the ‘hard’ questions and examine the things that matter most.

My interest in death and dying was sparked at the age of seventeen when I encountered the death of a close friend, who only months before, saved my own life, rescuing me from a vehicle accident.  Not long after my father died from cancer.

These events touched me deeply and gave me the resilience and determination to live life with passion, purpose and courage.
