About this Death Cafe
Death is generally considered a taboo subject in Western culture. Our objective is to increase awareness of death and explore how this may enhance our everyday well-being.
Although the Sylvan Road Death Cafe is kindly hosted at St John the Evangelist (which is an Inclusive Church) there is no religious bias of any kind whatsoever or intent to evangelize. We aim to provide an opportunity for people of any background, religion, culture or belief to meet and discuss all aspects of death, dying or grief in a safe non-judgemental environment.
Death Cafe's are discussion groups rather than grief support or counselling sessions.

Victoria Keen
Victoria used to attend Jamyang Buddhist Centre at the same time Jon Underwood, the founder of the Death Cafe movement, when he was manager.
