About this Death Cafe

Bay Area Cancer Connections supports anyone affected by breast or ovarian cancer with personalized services that inform and empower.

Mission Hospice & Home Care serves patients and families in the San Mateo County area with quality, compassionate end-of-life care and education. Founded in 1979, our local, independent nonprofit has provided thousands of patients and their families with physical, emotional, and spiritual support throughout the journey from a life-threatening diagnosis through death and bereavement.

About Mission Hospice & Home Care and BACC

Susan Barber has been facilitating a Death Cafes in her home town of Alameda CA since 2013, and when she joined Mission Hospice & Home Care in 2015, it seemed like a natural fit.

We began to host Death Cafes in San Mateo County in 2015, and we continue to be inspired by the people who join us to share their experiences, stories, hopes and dreams about death.

Co Host Jeanette Fedasz, RN has worked in the Spanish speaking Community helping them navigate needs at end of life. She is an nurse with many years of experience supporting those with cancer.

We are grateful to our community partners who have undertaken this adventure with us and thank BACC for hosting their first Death Cafe!
