About this Death Cafe

We believe that people often avoid  these important conversations with their loved ones until it’s too late. This cafe will serve to begin the conversation and address the anxieties and fears surrounding the discussion of death.This is will be an informal discussion with coffee and cake.[and rugalah]


About Chaya Lerner, LCSW

Chaya Lerner is a licensed clinical Social Worker. She has her Master’s in Social Work from Barry University. She is currently studying to be a Rabbinic Pastor at Aleph- Alliance for Jewish Renewal. She currently works for Jewish Community Services with Holocaust survivors as a case manager and is also a clinician. She has also worked with a local Chèvre Kaddisha ( Jewish Burial Society) She has a particular interest in death/dying and grief counseling.

John Rubinov is from Miami. His family is from Uzbekistan. He has a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. He has a particular interest in encouraging people to have conversations about death and dying.

Jonathan Neumann is a local attorney in Private practice. He has his law degree from University of Miami. He specializes in end of life legal issues like health care surrogates, living wills and DNRs ( do not resuscitate)
