About this Death Cafe
Death is an unavoidable part of life, but we generally aren't very good at talking about it. Death cafes provide a chance to talk openly with others about the subject, over tea and cake.
Come and join this friendly, informal session to chat about any aspect of death that you would like to explore.
All welcome, free refreshments!
Please note this is not a bereavement support or grief counselling session.
If you live on the D'Eynsford Estate and look after someone in the evenings, the TMO can pay for carer cover to help you attend this session. But the cafe is open to everyone who would like to come along, wherever you live.
About D'Eynsford Tenant Management Organisation
D’Eynsford Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) was set up in 2015 to enable residents on the D’Eynsford Estate in Camberwell, SE5 London, to take control of estate services such as the cleaning, repairs and rent collection. We also run a range of community activities.
This death cafe will be facilitated by Kate D, one of the estate residents. Kate works for Healthwatch Lambeth, gathering people's experiences of local health and care services. For her job, she is running a project on advance care planning, which involves thinking ahead to how we'd like to be cared for at the end of our life or if we're in a situation where we can no longer make or communicate our decisions. Kate feels that death cafes are a great way to start talking about these kinds of questions, alongside other things.
