About this Death Cafe
At a Death Cafe, we drink tea and coffee, eat cake, and discuss death. The aim is to increase awareness of death to help ourselves make the most of our (finite) lives. What's on your mind about death and dying?
In this group discussion we will cover whatever topics or questions you bring to the group.
Light refreshments will be provided. The library is about 1/2 mile from the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station and it also has a parking lot.
Let me know if you are coming! Contact me through this web form or simply email me at deathdoulasarah@gmail.com
This is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.
About Sarah Farr, founder of Death Positive DC and end-of-life doula
In an effort to bring the death positive movement to the DC-area, I started a group called Death Positive DC, which is open to anyone: www.facebook.com/groups/DeathPositiveDC
One of my goals is to normalize death as a part of life and help people become more comfortable thinking and talking about death. I believe that by acknowledging and talking about death, we can live our lives more fully.
I am also an end-of-life doula who has done doula training though INEDLA. I live in Maryland and believe part of my role as a doula is to educate the public about death and end-of-life issues.
