Although virtual for the time being, we hope in 2023 to reconvene once again for tea & tagine after hours, in our beloved Moroccan restaurant in Times Square.
As for Death Cafés, what do we believe? Certainly that this is the spot where fear, dark humor, curiosity and spiritual inquiry all meet in one place.
About Harvey Newman
Harvey Newman hosts our virtual Death Cafe NYC. He is an interfaith minister and had a self-induced "near-death" experience in 1977 that transformed his life. Harvey is interested in expanding consciousness and the merging of the wisdom of our ancestors with current scientific thinking. He enjoys meaningful discussions about death, dying, beliefs, theories and concerns.
Nancy Gershman is our in-person host, that is, when those resume again, and is our main social media person. She is a psychotherapist and the developer of Dreamscaping (amzn.to/2WKt93A), an imaginal and photo-based approach to treating grief and loss, supported by the way memories get encoded in the brain.
