About this Death Cafe
Mount Auburn Cemetery was founded on the belief that the dead should be commemorated in a landscape of exceptional beauty and tranquility, providing comfort and inspiration to the bereaved and public as a whole. We would like to reinforce our founders' message: that death can be a beautiful, comfortable discussion - something that we should not fear. Death is part of everything we do, so let's talk about it.
About The Friends of Mount Auburn Cemetery
The Friends of Mount Auburn was established in 1986 to assist in the conservation of Mount Auburn Cemetery's natural beauty and to promote the appreciation of its cultural, historic, and natural resources. The Friends is focused on expanding educational offerings to include end-of-life issues and create more opportunities for honest conversations about death.
Peg Lorenz, of Peaceful Passage at Home, and a board member of the National Home Funeral Alliance, will act as facilitator.
