About this Death Cafe

This Death Cafe will take place in a funeral home, one of the French Funerals & Cremations locations in Albuquerque. Funeral director and location manager Buck Dyck will take participants on a tour of the facility and be available to answer questions. The funeral home is located on the west side of Wyoming, just north of the intersection with San Antonio/Harper.

Gail Rubin, CT, is a death educator who uses humor and funny films to teach about end-of-life topics. An award-winning speaker, she "knocked 'em dead" at TEDxABQ in 2015. The author of A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don't Plan to Die and Hail and Farewell: Cremation Ceremonies, Templates and Tips, she also serves on the local Chevrah Kaddisha and the cemetery committee for Congregation Albert. She was the second person to hold a Death Cafe in the U.S.
