About this Death Cafe
i've been interested in the end-of-life process since i was in my 30's, decades ago, and have more recently been drawn to the specific topics of home funerals, senior communities, green burials, senior living choices.
i find the end-of-life process rich and fascinating. i so enjoy facilitating groups who are willing to delve into their deepest memories, revelations, joys and fears around this experience of being alive.
i am careful to set a safe space to allow individual expression without fear of being "fixed" or judged. what matters most to me is the truth as best known by the person speaking. i value open listening, respectful silence, and thoughtful reflections.
i am deeply grateful to all who have participated in the ongoing flow of austin death cafes.
About brooks kasson
i have facilitated monthly death cafe discussions for the past two and a half years. my friend, jo jensen, and i began offering them in 2013, and i have been carrying them forward for the last year.
i am a teacher, a healer, a transformer. i relish being around people who continue to evolve and have a sense of who they are. what can i say? i'm a scorpio.
