As this Death Cafe is going to be near Christmas, I would like us to look at Death from the standpoint of it being a GIFT.

I am sure this is going to generate some deep, passionate and lively exchanges.

And as suggested in our previous Death Cafe, why not all eat some cakes and if possible some "Death by Chocolate" cake!!

Some comments after our november Death Cafe:

"Death is an inevitability and we spend little time reflecting exactly what the experience does to us and our loved ones or what it would do to us when it happens. We spend so much time avoiding the fact it can Happen at any moment but we never give ourselves enough time to face the fears of our own mortality or the mortality of our loved ones.

I spent a lot of time in fear of the experience of a loved on's death or my own. At the death cafe I was given tho opportunity to allow myself those conversations to connect with people who have their own experiences with death as well as those who have gone through the motions of consoling loved ones and even themselves. The conversations were enriching and the atmosphere was that of respect and empathy.

I had gone into the death cafe with no expectations but what  I got was more profound than I could ever imagine possible".T.A.M. Student and artist

"Thank you Suzanne, truly for being part of a really enriching evening.

The venue was fine, all we needed in feeling comfortable, fed if we wanted and disappearing as we engaged.

The discussion went amazingly, everyone getting involved.   What was so brilliant was that we were such a diverse group in so many ways including our ages and occupations.   It was as if unconsciously - or with your mystic skills you had put together a wondrous eclectic mixture!  Some worked with palliative care, some had much experience of loved ones dying, and those most youthful were so very interested in death and in being aware of it and thereby the increasing preciousness of life itself. Can't wait to take part in the next one". T.A. psychotherapist.
