About this Death Cafe
I want to run this Death Cafe because I think greater society has made death and dying to be a subject to avoid, rather than sit with. The fear around death shrinks the moment people are given permission to talk about it with no agenda or "fix." I really hope that within this event each of us can be guided by curiosity rather than fear. Please come with a question, story, or just presence. More Death Cafes in the future hopefully!

Chris is a current Bachelor of Social Work student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After experiencing loss at a young age, Chris has often wondered what does it mean to die well, and how do we support each other through it. He believes conversations surronding death should not be confined to hospital rooms and hushed voices, but rather surronded by friends and cake!
