About this Death Cafe
-
It is my #1 goal to normalize conversations around death & dying because it is something that we all have in common as humans. We each have so much to offer in this conversation by sharing our different cultural, religious & spiritual backgrounds and beliefs.
-
At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.
-
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
-
Our Death Cafes are always offered:
- On a not for profit basis
- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
Housekeeping:
- We will begin promptly at 12:10 pm PST. Please arrive in store by NOON in order to get your snacks and be seated.
- Parking is plentiful with both metered street and garage parking options. Do give yourself extra time to park and arrive.
- This will be held in a private classroom located inside the Black Raven Marketplace.
- This Death Cafe is of course free of charge. Donations are kindly accepted to cover cost of tea and snacks. :-)
- Reserving your space is required, as space is limited.
A HUGE thank you to our Host, Black Raven Marketplace (& Darlene) for donating the use of their new classroom space: Annex IX!
Without your donation, this Death Cafe would not be possible. Please be sure to check out all of the unique & fun events hosted here as well as unique, dark and unusual vendors items for sale in the shop! Tell your friends about this newest space in the Artist District in Santa Ana & help support local business!
