About this Death Cafe

A Gentle Space for Difficult Conversations

Death, loss, and letting go can be difficult to talk about.

And yet, you can't talk about death without talking about living.

Gathering in the Quiet is a small, intimate space to slow down, listen, reflect, and talk honestly about the things we don't always get to say out loud.

There’s no pressure to share. You’re welcome to simply listen and be present.

About Catherine Seo, PhD

Catherine Seo, PhD
Host

Catherine founded Lipedema Simplified and has spent over a decade creating education and community for people living with lipedema and lymphedema. This series grew out of her own recent work on estate and end-of-life planning — and her wish to bring that experience back to the community rather than hold it alone.

Tisa McGraw
Death Doula and Facilitator

Tisa is a death doula who has been walking alongside our community as we find our own way into thinking about death and dying. She brings presence more than answers — a steady, unhurried companionship that makes room for whatever comes up, and makes hard conversations feel a good deal less lonely.

Julie Stewart
Community Muse and Organizer

Julie is Lipedema Simplified's community muse and mentor, and the one shaping this exploration of death and dying into something we can actually gather around. She has a way of sensing what our community is ready to talk about before we quite have words for it — and then gently making the space for it.

Lipedema Simplified
Host Organization

Lipedema Simplified is an education and community organization for people living with lipedema, lymphedema, and related conditions. Gathering in the Quiet extends that work into harder territory — life, loss, and planning ahead — with the same honesty and care.
