About this Death Cafe
Pets hold a special place in our hearts, and their loss can leave a profound impact that often goes unacknowledged. The Pet Lovers Death Café brings together the pet lover community so that the topic of pet death can be normalized and compassionately discussed through open conversation and sharing in a safe and non-judgmental space. Talking about our experiences and feelings related to the illness and loss of a beloved pet can also be a great way to start the conversation about our own dying and death.
About Crystal
Crystal Bernard works full time for her local municipality in the Recreation Services. In 2021 she found herself working for a respite center which ignited a new passion and she turned her focus to supporting people in need of grief support. She took a course at Queens in psychology and enrolled in the Death Doula Program with HHA.
Crystal has lived experience with grief in various forms and losses. She has a caring soul that is seen by many, and she looks forward to supporting others on their grief journeys.
