About this Death Cafe
We meet the fourth Sunday of each month at 11:30. Our group size varies from month to month, 5-15 attendees.
Our desire is to investigate death awareness and the dying process, to
explore how one might die with dignity, and to discuss how death can
be viewed as a sacred passage or transition rather than a medical event.
Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death that follows the protocol of the Death Cafe movement. The Death Cafe focuses on how normalizing death helps us to live more fully and the importance of a “good death” as a legacy for our loved ones.
About Richard & Delana Schneider
Death Cafes have no set agenda, are not support groups or grief counseling. The facilitators provide a safe space that allows the discussion to reflect the needs of those attending. Richard and Delana Schneider have facilitated Death Cafes for over 15 years and welcome the opportunity to bring these lively discussions about death to the First Universalist community. Yes, it is a “cafe” you bring the coffee and we will provide the sweet!
