An Online Death Cafe

About this Death Cafe

I am hosting this Death Café because I believe conversations about death can help us live more fully. Death is a universal experience, yet it is often one of the most difficult topics to discuss openly. My hope is to create a space where people feel comfortable exploring thoughts, questions, fears, and reflections around death, grief, and legacy without judgment.

This Death Café will be a welcoming and inclusive gathering centered around conversation, curiosity, and connection. There is no expectation to share personal experiences, and there are no right or wrong answers. Participants will be invited to engage through thoughtful prompts and group discussion while respecting each person's individual comfort level and perspective.

My intention is to create a space where people can feel less alone in their thoughts about mortality and recognize that conversations about death are not only about endings—they are also about love, meaning, relationships, and the way we choose to live.

This event is independently organized in the spirit of the Death Café model and does not currently have any sponsors.

About Lauren

My name is Lauren Davenport, and I am passionate about creating spaces where people can have more open, honest conversations about death, grief, and what it means to live a meaningful life.

I have a background in psychology, which has deepened my interest in human connection, emotional experiences, and the ways we process major life transitions. My passion for this work was also shaped by my own experiences with loss and grief, which helped me recognize how important it is to have spaces where people feel safe exploring conversations that are often avoided.

I am currently pursuing education in end-of-life care and am passionate about helping create a culture where death is approached with curiosity, compassion, and openness rather than fear or silence. As a Death Café facilitator, my role is not to provide answers or advice, but to hold space for meaningful conversations and create an environment where people can reflect, share, and listen to one another.

I believe that by talking more openly about death, we can deepen our appreciation for life, strengthen our relationships, and better understand what truly matters to us.
