About this Death Cafe

Welcome! We are Lisa Ludwig-Mackenzie and Marie-Louise Steyn, qualified end-of-life doulas. We host this virtual space because we passionately believe that when we bring death out of the shadows and into natural conversation, we unlock a deeper sense of presence, connection, and intensity in our daily lives.

Our online gatherings are relaxed, gentle, and judgment free. Guided by Paulo Coelho’s reminder that “an awareness of death encourages us to live more intensely,” we have created a safe, heart-centered environment where you can pull up a chair with a cup of tea or coffee. Here, you are invited to share stories, ask big questions, explore life's impermanence, or simply sit back and listen deeply.

Whether you are curious about legacy work, wanting to explore what matters most, or just looking for real connection, you are so welcome here.

Please come exactly as you are.

Lisa Ludwig-Mackenzie is a Moment Mentor, End-of-Life Doula, and Trauma Debriefer, and the founder of In the Moments Wellness.
