About this Death Cafe

There are many reasons to talk about death—and many ways to approach the conversation. Justin appreciates the simplicity and accessibility of the Death Café model, which creates space for open, honest dialogue.

He had hoped that COVID-19 would make our mortality more present and more openly discussed, leading to greater reflection and preparation, but he has not found that to be widely the case. He hopes you will join the conversation—and carry it with you into your own relationships and communities.

Justin has hosted Death Cafes since 2014 and collaborated on many community events to shift our culture’s approach to the end-of-life. This will be the first in-person session Death Café Louisville has hosted since 2020 and he is excited to collaborate with Lynn, Casey, and Katie.
