About this Death Cafe

We trust the the Stroud Death Cafe is like any other DC, run on the principles we have all signed up to.  The cafe is licensed which is a welcome option, but generally we trust tea and cake to work their magic.  We ask for a voluntary contribution to the cost of the venue if you can afford it .  We meet every other month, alternately with Nailsworth DC a few miles away.

About David Lambert and Martin Jacques

David is a part-time assistant undertaker with Family Tree, Stroud's independent Funeral Directors.  Since his involvement with Extinction Rebellion he has become increasingly interested in regenerative culture and community resilience.  

Martin Jacques is a highly regarded and well-known Stroud community activist.  Among many other projects he is responsible for Sladebank Woods, which for more than twenty five  years has been connecting people with nature.
