About this Death Cafe
We are running this relaxed and safe Cafe with End of Life Conversations in mind for those curious souls on the Central Coast who have urged us to run a Death Cafe; it is the 21st Melissa has hosted and is always different. I think some people just come for the Chai and cake. There are always some interesting books on Death & Dying to look at, along with honest, open sharing and discussions that are the key to this relaxed, no-agenda, up-to-you-whether-you-want-to-share Death Cafe.
Disclaimer: To protect those recently bereaved from conversations that may be too triggering, we say this is not for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one within the past 3-6 months.
About Melissa Halliday and Nina Angelo
Nina Angelo OAM is an author, artist, poet and mover and shaker for the Arts on the Central Coast, having initiated Festivals and Arts projects for decades in this area.
Melissa Halliday is an end of life doula, funeral director & celebrant, ex-solicitor, yoga teacher and palliative care volunteer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and has hosted over 21 Death Cafes in the past decade.
