About this Death Cafe

When her father died, she was young and suddenly responsible for decisions no one had prepared her for. There were no written wishes, no plans, and no space to grieve without also managing logistics and expectations. That experience never left her.

She understands that most people avoid these conversations out of fear, not neglect. Our culture teaches us to look away from death, even though it is one of the most certain parts of being human.

Death Cafe exists to gently change that. It creates a space where people can talk openly, ask questions, share fears, and name what matters to them while they are still here.

Because when we speak about death with honesty and care, we make it easier for the people we love to grieve, remember, and carry us forward without having to guess.

About Amanda and Debbie

Amanda is a current psych student, former Death Doula and funeral attendant who loves to talk about death and grief and everything having to do with the end of life. She believes mortality salience is a driving force of living an intentional life.

Debbie is a caring empathetic steward to her community, thriving in the spaces where conversation and crossroads meet.
