About this Death Cafe
An Invitation to Camden Death Cafe
We don't talk about death much in everyday life. We save it for funerals, for crisis moments, for someday. But someday isn't actually on the calendar.
Death Cafe offers something simpler: a chance to sit with neighbors over coffee and a muffin and just talk. No agenda, no one trying to fix anything or sell you on a particular way of thinking. Just honest conversation about something we'll all face—what it means to die, to lose people we love, to know our time here is finite.
For ten years, I've been facilitating these gatherings in our community, and what strikes me each time is the relief in the room. When given permission, people want to talk about this. They have questions, fears, stories, and curiosities they've been carrying alone. The format is simple: small groups, a safe space, and the freedom to speak or just listen.
Our next Death Cafe is Saturday, February 28th, from 10:30am to noon at the Camden Creative Unit (C214, Knox Mill, 40 Washington Street—park and enter from the rear lot). Come if you're curious. Come if you've been thinking about mortality lately. Come if you just want to sit with others who are willing to have this conversation. Question? Please email -linklindATGmail.com
