About this Death Cafe
We are Lou and Alicia, and we are hosting Death Cafes in Eastbourne because we believe talking about death can be one of the most life-giving things we do.
We are both passionate about normalising conversations about death and dying, and we care deeply about creating gentle, welcoming spaces where nothing is too heavy, too weird, or too sad to share.
We would like to invite you to join us the last Friday of every month, 1–2:30Pm, at the Art House Creative Café. No agenda. No judgment. Just a welcoming and safe space to share thoughts, tea/coffee, and connection.
About Alicia and Lou
Lou:
I’m Lou, an experienced bereavement counsellor and reiki practitioner.
After moving to Eastbourne, I completed the Foundation training as an End of Life Doula and I am now halfway through my Soul Midwife training with Felicity Warner.
I currently volunteer with St Wilfred’s Hospice, visiting patients in their home in the Eastbourne area, as well as spending a lot of time with my young grandchildren.
Alicia:
My name is Alicia, and I am Death Doula with a clinical background and a lifelong commitment to compassionate care and open-hearted listening.
I started my journey supporting vulnerable children and marginalised families; I then worked with homeless people; and, in recent years, I’ve been mentoring and coaching teenagers and adults.
From a very young age, I got used to having conversations about death and dying. It wasn’t until later that I realised how rare—and how valuable—that openness truly was! That ignited my passion for helping others feel more comfortable talking about it.
