About this Death Cafe
-
2nd Sunday Every Month
☕ Hosted by The Living End
Death Cafés offer a simple premise: a gathering of ordinary people to speak freely about mortality. There’s no agenda, no ideology, and no attempt to steer the conversation. The goal is connection via sharing reflections, questions, and stories that don’t often find a place elsewhere!
About Serena Gupta & Mikel Carver
Mikel Carver is a grief advocate and co-founder of The Living End. His path to this work was profoundly shaped by the loss of his 18-year-old son, Jake, and the journey of helping his family navigate their grief. He brings empathy, lived experience, and a commitment to creating spaces where people can speak openly about death, loss, and healing.
Dr. Serena Gupta is a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults through grief, trauma, and life transitions. Her own encounters with existential questions inspired her to create spaces where people can speak openly about death—and in doing so, rediscover a deeper connection to life.
Her work integrates EMDR, Sandplay Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and is informed by spiritual teachings such as those of Ram Dass. Dr. Gupta approaches each Death Café as an opportunity to foster community, reflection, and authentic human connection.
