Join death care professional Alexis and end-of-life doula Chelsea for an open gathering where community members come together in a safe, welcoming space to share thoughts, questions, and stories about death over tea, treats, and good company.
There’s no agenda, no pressure, and no expected outcome. Just honest conversation, supportive listening, and a chance to connect with others who are curious about life’s one certainty. Whether you’re new to the topic or have deep reflections to share, all are welcome!
The Rose Garden Death Cafe is offered as a completely free event, in a respectful and confidential setting. There’s no intention to guide you toward any particular belief or action; just an invitation to explore, learn, and simply be present.

Alexis Hart, a Los Angeles native, is a seasoned death care professional with over a decade of experience across various facets of end-of-life and death care. Her extensive background spans mortuary and cemetery services, medical examiner, hospice, and pathology, establishing her as a guiding light during families' darkest moments. Passionate about nature, Alexis seamlessly integrates its healing power into her work, enhancing the support she provides to those in need. As a co-founder of Prism Memorial, Alexis is deeply honored to educate and serve grieving families, offering compassion and expertise throughout their journey.

Born and raised in San Jose, Chelsea Mowery provides compassionate, tailored support for each unique end-of-life journey, rooted in her personal experience of caring for her mother through younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease. As an end-of-life doula and owner of Celestial Bridge Doula Care LLC, her services range from advance care planning and life review to companionship during active dying, as well as grief support, pet end-of-life care support, and dementia care advocacy/support. With a heartfelt emphasis on informed choices, respect for individual values, and empowerment for all, Chelsea’s approach is designed to ease the burdens of both clients and their loved ones, creating space for a dignified, peaceful experience and a meaningful legacy.
