About this Death Cafe
We both want to become more comfortable discussing death with family and friends, children and partners and trust that sharing a supportive space will help us to practice this.
This is our first try at holding a death cafe (or 3).
We particularly appreciate that:
donations are voluntary, not essential;
a death cafe is NOT therapy or bereavement counselling - that we are all learning and practising together;
and
whoever comes changes what happens on the day.
About Jo Tait and Bernadette Riley
Jo Tait - I am a retired academic / change agent in education and learning. Recently moved back to Kendal, I am re-connecting with friends who are now (like me) ageing and looking to an unkown future. Death is, perhaps, my new 'curriculum' for mutual learning.
Bernadette Riley - I am a retired Alexander Technique teacher and Breath-work practitioner. I worked with groups and individuals and I have always been committed to creating safe and inclusive learning environments that include ease and fun.
