About this Death Cafe
I'm hosting these Death Cafés in Wagga Wagga to help normalise conversations around death and dying in our local community. Many people want to talk about death, but don't know where or how to start. My hope is to offer a space where people can gather with curiosity and courage, and speak freely—from the heart—about something we will all face.
The sessions are gently held, with no set agenda, no expectations, and no judgment. People are welcome to speak, listen, reflect, or simply be present. It's not therapy or advice—just honest conversation shared over tea and cake.
These gatherings are not sponsored and are offered as a gift to the community, with the simple cost being kindness, compassion, and confidentiality.
About Peir Woon
Peir Woon is an end-of-life doula based in Wagga Wagga, Australia. Her work centres on community advocacy and education, with a gentle focus on creating compassionate spaces to talk about death and dying—topics so often avoided, yet deeply human.
Peir hosts Death Cafés in Wagga as a way to normalise these important conversations and offer people the opportunity to connect, reflect, and share in a safe, inclusive environment. She believes that when we speak openly about death, we create space for living with greater clarity, care, and meaning. With a calm and open-hearted presence, she invites others to approach this part of life with honesty, tenderness, and dignity.
