About this Death Cafe

As queer  people we often have non-normative relationships, and our concept of what constitutes ‘family’ is very different to many of those around us. This may have impacted on how the death of a close person is perceived by our biological family or our colleagues, for example. This could affect how we grieve, or even if we are able to visit someone in hospital during their final hours, or attend a funeral, or be recognised and acknowledged as someone close to the deceased person. Such experiences will inevitably affect our grieving processes in a unique way.

This Death Cafe is an open and non-judgemental space where we can share similar experiences as queer people, speak honestly about death and dying and feel heard. The Death Café takes place in English in Berlin; tea and snacks are provided
