About this Death Cafe
The event basically looks like this:
1. You turn up at the venue for 7pm
2. You have a coffee and a slice of cake if you want.
3. You get to meet the other people attending that evening.
4. You get to talk in a safe, cosy, relaxed environment about mortality, life, death... what ever floats your boat or interests you.
5. You leave... knowing you probably just made a few friends!!
About Elizabeth, Pat, Geof and Naomi
Elizabeth is facilitating the August meeting.
Elizabeth is a retired social worker and has a LOT of experience in palliative care. She is involved in many community projects as well as developing hospice facilities. We are lucky to have her valuable input with this event.
Geof is a local writer, teacher and organiser. As a longstanding member of the Quaker movement he really gets things going. He has previously facilitated two Death Cafe events very successfully. We look forward to his third evening.
Pat is a local counsellor/psychotherapist/ Qi Gong teacher. Her calm and open manner encourages people to look at the subject matter deeply. An avid reader, Pat has summarised some interesting books on death and dying. She also opens up the venue and closes on time.
