About this Death Cafe

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice (FL) is a welcoming place for all.  As with other Unitarian Universalists, the community provides encouragement for lifelong learning and opportunities to engage in such thoughtful discussions.  Cathay will have assistance from longime member, Eileen.

About Cathay Keough

Cathay is founder of Final Journey Doula Services, is a lifelong student of Zen Buddhism, and has been a librarian for over three decades. As a librarian, the professionalism of active listening, facilitating discussions, and honoring every person is deeply ingrained in her.  Cathay lives in Sarasota County, Florida, which has twice the aging population as the rest of the nation.  A need for discussion on the topic of death and dying are essential, to plan as well as to embrace the inevitable, and to help reduce fear of dying.
