About this Death Cafe

My mission is to enable others to be more comfortable talking about all things death and dying. I like my events to have free-flowing conversations, have attendees feel physically and psychologically safe, and to ensure that no-one feels pressured to contribute. Being there and listening can be as enabling as sharing stories and anecdotes.

I will provide a delicious cake to share, please pick up a coffee from the onsite cafe. I request that you arrive between 2 and 2.10 pm for a prompt 2.15 start, coffee in hand, so please allow 10 or so mins for the barista to work their magic! I accept gold coin donations to cover venue hire but there are no expectations that you will donate!

About Iain McKinnon

I am a former registered nurse with palliative care experience now working in my own business as an end-of-life coach, funeral advocate/celebrant, resilience coach and palliative and aged care aromatherapist. My business is supporting people on their end-of-life journey. My role as a Death Cafe host is not about business. it is about community, shared experience, engaging with other death and dying thinkers, and mutual respect.
