About this Death Cafe

Talking about death won’t kill you, so come along to a Death Café!

All are welcome at our monthly discussion circle on death (and life).

We are meeting this month at the McGovern- Stella Link Library.

We will be in the private Meeting Room -- there will be a small paper sign with the Death Cafe logo on the door.

We are now permitted to bring food into our meeting space in the library! There will be some light snacks available, and feel free to bring your own lunch or something to share if you wish.

If more than 20 folks are in attendance and the Houston weather cooperates, anyone who wishes to will have the opportunity to break off into a smaller discussion group outside! Feel free to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs if you think you might want to be outside rather than in. Emphasis that going outside is optional -- there will still be a discussion circle meeting inside.

How to find us

Enter through the library door. Continue straight, past the checkout desk. If you turn left, the meeting room door is immediately opposite the checkout desk. Any difficulty, ask the library staff how to find the Death Cafe!

About Stephanie Wolff

Stephanie has been facilitating Houston Death Cafe's monthly meetings since the group returned from hiatus at the start of 2022. Her background in death has been both personal, paid, and voluntary. Noteably, she has served as a listener on the Samaritans Suicide Helpline during her time living in Edinburgh, Scotland, and currently volunteers with a local hospice that serves those with HIV/AIDS.

"I am deeply passionate about the death positivity movement, and creating spaces where people from all walks of life can gather to discuss death. Death belongs to everyone. And I can't wait to meet you at the next Death Cafe!"
